This trip was the camping trip to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon National Park. All the camping gear was supplied by Bindlestiff Tours. The only camping equipment we brought was our slee
..ping bags. We stayed at 4 campgrounds. Every campground was very nice. We camped in the tent sections of the grounds. There were showers and bathrooms nearby. The first day our tour guide, Joe, showed us how to set up the tents (very easy to do) and break down the tents when we were moving on to the next site. The group shared in the cooking responsibilities, but don't be intimidated by that. It was basic campfire cooking, so it was easy. This was our first time camping. Joe made sure our camping experience was enjoyable.
Ok, that's the facts of the trip, now here is the rest:
The trip was awesome! First off, the awesomeness started with our guide. Joe was incredible. He was very informative, knowledgeable and fun. He told us everything we needed to know about the parks we were visiting so we could make informed decisions about what we wanted to do and see. Each day we were free to do as we pleased and because Joe was so helpful, we got the most out of our trips to the parks. If there was anything you needed or wanted, he took care of it. For example, if you say, "ice cream would be nice", he finds you some ice cream.
Since the group was small, it was easy to get to know everyone in the group and make friends. This was perhaps the best part of the trip. You can't beat making new friends.
Each park was beautiful, but beautiful in different ways. They each have a distinct personality. It was fun to compare and contrast the parks. The star gazing at night was incredible.
I highly recommend this tour. You will not be disappointed.
Here are a few pointers: Every campground we stayed at had a swimming pool, so bring your suits and a towel. A dip in the pool after a day of hiking is so refreshing. Bring some sandals for the evening. Your feet will appreciate the air after being in your shoes/boots all day. A camelback is easier to carry about than water bottles. I will get one for next time.
