This Virginia city sits along the Potomac River and is located approximately six miles from Washington, D.C. Alexandria was called Hunting Creek Warehouse and Belhaven in the past and was founded in 1749. The city's Old Town neighborhood contains many historic buildings, stores and restaurants.
