The largest British fort in North America spanning more than 37 acres remains an active military site and tourist attraction in the continent's only remaining walled city. The polygon-shaped Citadelle of Quebec, or La Citadelle de Quebec, is located on Cape Diamond and was built between 1820-31. It is home to the Royal 22e Regiment who perform military demonstrations like the Changing of the Guard for visitors during the summer.
