The picturesque valley that stretches 48 miles between the Teton and Gros Ventre mountains ranges in Wyoming was named after Rocky Mountain Fur Co. beaver trapper Davey Jackson and its northern portion makes up Grand Teton National Park. Jackson Hole contains the National Elk Refuge that is home to the largest elk herd in the world. Other notable sites are the Snake River, Blacktail Butte, Jackson Lake, Granite Hot Springs, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, The Sleeping Indian, National Museum of Wildlife Art and Jackson Lake Lodge.
