This spa town in western Bohemia is 75 miles from Prague. Founded by Charles IV in the 14th century, Karlovy Vary became popular with noble families in the 16th century. Today its mineral springs still attract visitors, along with the city’s many activities and events. Most of the buildings that remain here date back to the 18th and 19th century and include several churches. Visit Deer Jump Lookout or Castle Tower for picturesque views, and check out Karlovy Vary’s golf courses, parks, house of wax and glass museum. The city even hosts an International Film Festival.
