Best Murphy Dome Tours from Fairbanks

The popular recreation area rising 2,890 feet used to be the site of Murphy Dome Air Force Station from 1951-83 and is a prime location to watch Aurora Borealis/Northern Lights as well as sunsets. Murphy Dome is located approximately 20 miles from Fairbanks and still consists of one working building in a Long Range Radar Station to identify any military air hazards.
