A neighborhood in downtown Seattle, Pioneer Square received its named during the founding of the city of Seattle, as it was the original city centre. Today it is listed under the U.S. National Registry of Historic Places as the Pioneer Square-Skid Road Historic District, and the architecture of the buildings reflect the styles at the city's founding.
