Best Akatsuka Orchid Gardens Tours & Trips

One of the largest orchid collections in Hawaii can be found in this greenhouse and showroom with more than 2,000 of the beautiful fragrant flowers in the community of Volcano on the Big Island. Akatsuka Orchid Gardens was opened in 1974 by Moriyasu Akatsuka and offers tours of the facilities led by an expert gardener detailing the orchid growing and hybridization process. Orchids displayed are Cattleya, Dendrobiums, Oncidiums, Phalaenopsis, Miltonia and Odontoglossums as well as other flowers like Anthuriums and Bromeliads. Show All
