The Southeast France commune full of floral fields and gardens that is known as "The Fragrance Capital of the World" and is home to the three perfume factories of Galimard Perfumery, Molinard and Fragonard Perfume Factory as well as the International Perfume Museum. Many of the flowers including roses, jasmine, tuberose and orange blossom used in the perfumes are grown in colorful Grasse fields. The commune became its own republic in the 12th Century and its perfume industry began in the late 1700s. Other notable sites are Grasse Cathedral, Museum of Provencal Art and History, Marine Museum, Museum of Provencal Costume and Jewelry, and Church of Placassie. Show All
