The Hualapai tribe meaning "People of Tall Pines" reside on a reservation established in 1883 and making up nearly one million acres stretching along the Grand Canyon West Rim in three Arizona counties. Hualapai Nation has approximately 2,100 members and its headquarters are in Peach Springs on the legendary Route 66. The Native American tribe opened its reservation to tourists in 1988 with several attractions along the Grand Canyon West Rim including Skywalk, Hualapai Ranch, Native American Village and Colorado River white water rafting.
