The 90-square-mile American Viticultural Area contains parts of both Napa and Sonoma counties in California and is known for producing sparkling wines, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Los Carneros' name is Spanish for sheep that are regularly viewed in the area grazing on the land and its cool climate is because of the area's proximity to San Pablo Bay.
