Located 15 miles from Denver, this 868-acre red sandstone formation park in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains is home to the famous amphitheater that is said to provide pitch-perfect sound. Red Rocks Park that was formed nearly 300 million years ago was procured by the City of Denver in 1928 and its previous names were Gardens of the Angels and Garden of the Titans. In addition to Red Rocks Amphitheatre, other notable formations are Cave of the Seven Ladders, Seat of Pluto, Creation Rock, Stage Rock and Ship Rock.
