The tallest trees in the world grow along the coast of Northern California and continually amaze visitors who measure themselves against these massive natural wonders. Redwood National and State Parks make up 133,000 acres in Del Norte and Humboldt counties. Federal and state park officials merged Redwood National Park with the redwoods state parks of Del Norte Coast, Jedediah Smith and Prairie Creek in 1994 as a combined effort to preserve the redwoods along with the other flora and fauna in the region. It has four campgrounds and five visitor centers within the parks. The Coastal Redwood can grow more than 370 feet tall and live more than 2,000 years. It is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site. Show All
