The main feature of Salt Lake City's 10-acre Temple Square is this ornate structure that is the largest Church of Latter-day Saints temple in the world and took 40 years to complete. The Salt Lake Mormon Temple was dedicated in 1893 by LSD Church President Wilford Woodruff and is a little more than 253,000 square feet in area and 222 feet tall. It was named "One of the Eight Religious Wonders to See in the United States" by CNN in 2012. The Mormon temple was designed by Truman Angell and contains many murals and symbolic adornments. Show All
