This Spanish hermitage dedicated to St. John the Baptist provides a breathtaking landscape with its location high atop Gaztelugatxe island in the Bay of Biscay. San Juan de Gaztelugatxe's church dates back to at least the 10th century, if not earlier. Gaztelugatxe island is connected to the mainland by a bridge and reaching the church requires some might as there are more than 230 steps leading to the top.
