Itinerary

Be seduced by the eternal charm of Tuscany's artistic cities where the beauty of monuments is linked with the rhythm of life and where every stone encompasses centuries of history. Travel through the hilly Tuscan countryside before reaching the splendid medieval city of Siena. Siena is universally known for its artistic treasures that have been recognized by UNESCO as a heritage of the humanity. Once in Siena, we'll visit the famous Piazza del Campo, with its unique shell shape. Here the Palazzo Comunale is flanked by the tall Torre del Mangia, where the famous Palio takes place annually. You may use your free time to visit the splendid Cathedral, one of the greatest artistic expressions of the Middle Ages. Admire splendid buildings and churches along narrow, lively streets. From Siena, we'll take a panoramic journey to the ancient fortified hamlet of Monteriggioni. Along the way admire vineyards and olive groves in the heart of Chianti territory. Monteriggioni is a small jewel built during the 13th century. Take a walk within the restricted perimeter of the surrounding walls with eleven towers and discover a beautiful corner of Tuscany suspended in the Middle Ages. A short distance away, in a pleasant country estate surrounded by aromatic plants, you will be served lunch made with local Chianti products. Then enjoy a guided tasting of fine Chianti and Vernaccia wines. After lunch we will leave the farm and travel a short distance to San Gimignano, another beautiful town as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is famous for its untouched, medieval town planning with numerous and beautiful towers. This town is also known for the Vernaccia wine produced here. A stroll in the town center means discovering true jewels of art: Piazza della Cisterna, the Duomo, Palazzo del Podesta, and the Church of Sant'Agostino. Next we travel to the famous town of Pisa for a tour of the UNESCO-listed Piazza dei Miracoli, or Square of Miracles. Admire the unrivaled marble masterpieces in the green lawn. Other grand expressions of 12th and 13th century Romanesque architecture can also be found here: the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, the magnificent Baptistery, the stunning Cathedral and the monumental graveyard.
