Itinerary

Peninsula Valdes is the top spot to observe the wildlife of the region. We will take you to discover the wild landscapes and unique wildlife of the Peninsula Valdes on a full-day tour from Puerto Madryn, including hotel pickup and an optional whale-watching experience. You will learn about Patagonia’s native flora and fauna from your expert naturalist guide as you spot elephant seals, penguins and sea lions along the coast. Traverse gorgeous and wild landscapes of Peninsula Valdes as we encounter the amazing sea life that live just outside of Puerto Madryn. Our journey will lead us over 380km of terrain in 10 hours. Naturalist guides will accompany us throughout our journey, providing fascinating and education information about the wildlife and ecosystem. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Peninsula Valdes is home to a variety of different and unique species that thrive through the peninsula's ecosystems. Our tour will lead you to observe typical animal life in its natural environment. Our first stop will be at the interpretive center Carlos Ameghino Isthmus, where you can get quick information about the flora, fauna and geology of Peninsula. Also, we will enjoy the panoramic viewpoint where we will see the Golfo Nuevo, San Jose and the Island of Birds. This is followed by another stop in the town of Puerto Piramides where, depending on the season, you can take a whale watching tour (optional, own expense) or a snorkeling trip (optional, own expense). Depending on the season, weather and the tides, we'll be visiting the following places in a different order or combined with other stops: Caleta Valdes, Punta Norte and Punta Cantor to observe elephant seals, penguins and sea lions. The killer whale can be seen from Punta Norte, but the best times to spot them are in March and April or during September from Caleta Valdes (less frequently). Then, after spending the day learning, observing and relaxing, we will take you back to your hotel in Puerto Madryn.
