The distinguished Gothic church in London's City of Westminster has been the site of British coronations since 1066, hosted 16 royal weddings and is the burial site of 17 English monarchs. Westminster Abbey's current structure was built in 1245 at the command of King Henry III from the former church established by King Edward the Confessor in 1065. Prior to that, the site had a small monastery on it from 960 A.D. Westminster Abby features stunning architecture, numerous historical exhibits and more than 600 monuments.
