No Aztec Empire experience is complete without a trip to Teotihuacan, the ruins of an expansive Mesoamerican metropolis now designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At its zenith between the 1st and 7th centuries A.D., Teotihuacan was the largest city in the pre-Columbian Americas. Highlights include the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, the Temple of Quetzalpapalotl (Plumed Serpent) and the Avenue of the Dead.
