The largest national park in the Canadian Rockies is this 4,200-square-mile retreat of pristine wilderness with lakes, hot springs, mountains, glaciers and plenty of wildlife. Jasper National Park was formed in 1907 and named for trading post merchant Jasper Hawes. It is visited by nearly two million people per year. Points of interest are Columbia Icefield, Mount Edith Cavell, Medicine Lake, Maligne Lake, Pyramid Mountain, Athabasca Falls and the Jasper Tramway. Along with four other Canadian national parks, it was designated a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization World Heritage Site. Show All
