This glorious historical edifice is the home of the Bundestag, Germany's national parliament. Damaged and abandoned for many years, the Reichstag underwent a reconstruction after the re-unification of East and West Germany in 1990, and is now a powerful symbol of national reconciliation. Designed by famed British architect Sir Norman Foster, the new Reichstag features a gigantic glass dome that replaced the cupola of the old building, and which offers visitors a stunning 360-degree view of Germany's capital, Berlin. Traces of the past were intentionally retained during reconstruction, including graffiti by Soviet soldiers from WWII. Show All
