Nevada's oldest and largest state park is a remarkable palette of reds earning its name of Valley of Fire State Park from the vivid sandstone formations. It was established in 1935 and contains Native American petroglyphs that are more than 3,000 years old. The 34,880-acre U.S. National Natural Landmark also features canyons, sand dunes, petrified wood and many interesting rock formations.
