Excursión a Petra desde el Mar Muerto (Hoteles Israel)

We will start our Petra tour at 4:20am. We will pick you up from your hotel, and help you with the border procedures. After the Jordanian border we will go to Petra. It is about a 2 hour drive. Then we'll begin our Petra tour with a licensed local guide. The city is surrounded by the hills of rust colored sandstone. We will visit all of the temples, and tombs, learning about the Nabataea's special and unique art of carving in the sand stone. Petra was once occupied by the Nabateans, they created almost all of what you see in Petra. Recently the Bedouins have resided in Petra and have been moved to a city outside, because of the tourism. Entering Petra understanding will come at once as to why this site is one of the seven wonders of the world. The Treasury is a gigantic facade that was carved from the sandstone, and is said to be a sacrificial place. The Nabateans used to sacrifice animals to their gods. There is much to see in Petra including the temples, a Roman theater, mourning halls, tombs, and much more. After the tour we will continue to one of the restaurants for lunch. After lunch we will travel back towards the border via Aqaba. Time of arrival back to Dead Sea is around 9:00pm.
